Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to the BookFun application (hereinafter referred to as “the Application”).

1. Information Collection and Use

To provide a better experience, our data processing is explained as follows:

A. User-Generated Data (Local Storage)

All personal data and content created or managed within this Application — including book files (TXT/EPUB), reading progress, bookmarks, notes, chapter data, and user profile information (name, title, avatar) — are stored only on your local device. We do not access, collect, or transmit your core application data to any external servers or third parties.

B. Third-Party Services

  • No-Ad Policy: This Application natively does not contain any third-party advertising SDKs and does not collect any device identifiers used for advertising purposes.
  • No Analytics Tracking: This Application does not embed any third-party analytics frameworks. We do not track your usage behavior, reading habits, or session data.
  • System TTS (Text-to-Speech): The TTS narration feature uses Apple’s on-device Speech Synthesis framework. Voice processing is performed entirely on your device; no audio data is sent to external servers.

C. App Store Basic Services

The Application interacts with the Apple App Store infrastructure solely to:

  • Verify in-app purchase status (if applicable in future versions).
  • Provide the basic system environment required for the Application to run.

2. Data Security and User Control

  • Data Security: All core data is stored locally on your device using SwiftData. We use standard iOS security mechanisms to protect your data at rest.
  • User Responsibility: Since all data is stored locally, the developer is not responsible for data loss caused by device loss, hardware failure, factory reset, or accidental deletion. We strongly recommend regularly backing up your device via iCloud or a computer to safeguard your reading data.
  • Data Deletion: You can delete all data associated with this Application at any time by uninstalling the app from your device.

3. Children’s Privacy

This Application does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. The Application is designed for general audiences and does not require any account registration or personal data submission.

4. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the “Last Updated” date below. Continued use of the Application after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
