BookFun User Manual

Welcome to BookFun (悅讀/悦读). This manual guides you through all features to set up your personal reading and text-to-speech sanctuary.

🚀 Quick Start

1. Add Books

• Tap the + button in the top-right corner of the bookshelf.
• Select local TXT or EPUB files using the system document picker.
• BookFun will extract chapters in the background and generate a unique gradient cover. Your book will appear on the shelf in seconds.

2. Reading

• Tap any book cover to open the reader.
• BookFun automatically saves your precise reading position.
• Tap the center of the screen to toggle the reader toolbar (Table of Contents, Typography, Speech, Search).

3. Typography & Page Turning

• Typography: Tap Aa in the control panel to adjust font size (12–30 pt), spacing, and page margins.
• Eye Care Filters: Tap the color palette to pick from 4 Themes (Parchment, Eye-Care Green, Dark Mode, White) or enable the physics-based Kelvin color temperature filter.
• Page Transitions: Choose between 3 Modes (3D Cover Flip with realistic creases, Horizontal Slide, or Vertical Continuous Scroll).

🎧 Text-to-Speech (TTS) & Controls

Start Listening

• Method 1: Double-tap any sentence in the reader to start TTS narration from that position.
• Method 2: Tap the headphone icon in the toolbar, pick a voice, and press Play.

Playback & Sleep Timer

• Speed Adjustment: Drag the rate slider between 0.5× and 2.0×.
• Sleep Timer: Set a timer (15 / 30 / 60 mins) to smoothly fade out playback when you fall asleep.
• Floating Mini Player: Navigating back to the bookshelf leaves a mini floating capsule to pause/resume or quickly return to the reader.

🔒 Privacy & iCloud Sync

• iCloud Sync: Automatically syncs bookshelf, bookmarks, and reading progress across all your Apple devices via native SwiftData / CloudKit.
• Data Protection: 100% private. All data stays local or in your personal iCloud container. No third-party servers.
